Ask Snape [Dec. 10th, 2007|09:09 pm]
chaeche

A short while ago, Snapecast received an unexpected and unexpected offer from the Potions Master. He has agreed to make a brief appearance on our show and answer questions submitted by our listeners. Folks, this is your one opportunity to get the truth from the man who knows.

Because communications beyond the veil are difficult, we are asking that you submit your questions in .ogg or .mp3 format. These can all be recorded using Audacity. Remember where to contact us...

We need your Snape quotes [Dec. 2nd, 2007|06:51 pm]
chaeche

One reason we all love Snape is that the guy has some fabulous oneliners. We would like to celebrate Snape’s wit, snarky, and sharptongue in our last regularly scheduled episode of Snapecast byfeaturing a medley of quotes from the Potions Master from both canon and fanon sources.

If you have a favorite Snape quote please send us an owl with the following information…

Favorite Snape Quote:Preferably recorded using Audacity in .ogg or .mp3 format
Source of Quote:Please name the HP book and chapter or fan fiction with author and link

We prefer audio submissions; however Snarky will accept written owls begrudgingly. As always there are two methods of delivery…

Skype Username: Snapecast
Email: severus@snapecast.com

We will be accepting submissions until January 1, 2008, but don't delay.

Official SnapeFest Announcement [Nov. 23rd, 2007|10:22 am]
chaeche
Let’s face it; you’re still Snape-ing...at least we are. The last book in the Harry Potter has been released, and the story of The Boy Who Lived has finally come to an end, but for some reason you’re can’t stop thinking about that snarky Potions Professor with the billowing robes and the hooked nose. Don’t worry because there are plenty of other depraved lunatics out there who also can’t get enough of the Greasy Git.

The Portus 2008 newsletter Portal has just announced SNAPEFEST!

Yes that's right. This year, we’re all going to meet up one last time to Snape together in honor of the Professor and his premature journey beyond the veil. We're teaming up with HPEF to bring you the very first Snape-centric convention.

SnapeFest will take place on July 9, 2008 (the Professor’s half birthday) in Dallas, Texas at the Hilton Anatole . Formal programming will include presentations, roundtable discussions, panels, trivia contests, competitions, displays of fan art and videos, costume fashion shows and much more. Afterwards, SnapeFest attendees are welcome to attend a candlelight vigil for Professor Snape held outside the Hilton Anatole and a dinner at a nearby restaurant.

This one day conference will be free to all Portus attendees; however space is limited to
50 Snape fans and you must be over 21 years of age to attend. Registration will be open on the January 9, 2008 and will be on a first come first serve basis. Please see the SnapeFest web site and our FAQ there for details. Also be sure to check out our section of the Portus message board.

We hope to see you in Dallas in July and until then Happy Snape-ing!

Calling all Snape shippers [Nov. 6th, 2007|10:40 pm]
chaeche
Snapecast is going to do a roundtable for Episode 25 (December 1) where we chat about the status of all Snape ships post Deathly Hallows. The idea is basically that we got this canon ship from JKR so what is the state of all the now non-cannon (or just not explicitly canon) Snape ships. We would like to get folks who have knowledge and opinions on at least one of the following...

Snape and Lupin
Snape and Dumbledore
Snape and Hermione
Snape and Regulus

Other ships are appreciated too. If you have or are willing to get the following 3 recording essentials please email me at (rachael) at (snapecast) dot com with "Snape ship panel" in the subject line. The recording essentials are...

1. Decent headset for recording
2. Skype VOIP program (free)
3. Audacity recording program (free)

Ideally we would like to record betweeb November 16 and November 25.

Snapecast Reports from Prophecy [Aug. 28th, 2007|11:51 am]
chaeche

Original poster: chaeche

Despite Prophecy being an inspiration for our upcoming Canadian episode, Rose was the only Snapeologist who was able to attend the conference which was held in Toronto August 2-5. Snarky was close by her side and the two of them got some fantastic pictures...

Right away Snarky made himself at home at his room in the Sheraton

There were some incredible Snape cosplayers at Prophecy...
snapecosplayer.jpgsnapeandfriend.jpgdesnape.jpgnakedbeeandsnape.jpgdroxy.jpg

Droxy!Snape wasn't very appreciative of her free bottle of Snape's Nongreasy Hair Elixir which was promptly hexed...

Snarky didn't do any cosplaying, but he did spend an awful lot of time with that owl who cosplays a squid...

There was also some great Snape art...
truepatronus.jpgsohot.jpgsnapeshapedhole.jpg

There was even a shrine for Snape at which conference attendees deposited gifts for the professor...

All all, Prophecy provided another forum for Snape lovers everywhere to say goodbye to our favorite Greasy Git. RIP Professor Snape.

Here is the final installment in our series of "snapeshots" from Sectus. These are a combination of pictures from the Sectus book release party and the Not The Yule Ball. There is some serious cosplaying going on here amongst the Snapecasters...Hagrid, Grawp, and Latex!Snape of course.

Eager fans wait for midnight...

frontofline.jpgmeandhagrid.jpgljpeeps.jpgsigune.jpg

Rachael hangs out with Hagrid and Grawp...

At the Not The Yule Ball, Steve Vander Ark from the HP Lexicon is overpowered by Latex!Snape...

Latex!Snape really got around at the ball. There was some Snart action...

Some Snarry...

And of course a little Snily too...

But Latex!Snape is most comfortable as a loner.

Snapecast Meetup at Sectus [Aug. 14th, 2007|09:39 am]

Original poster: chaeche

The Snapecast staff is just starting to settle down from the craziness that was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. We apologize for taking so long to post pictures from our adventures in London for the book release, but we figure they are better late than never. The pics will be coming in several batches. First up is our meetup at Potion...

The venue was just too perfect

The weather was dreadful, but Snape fans are determined

Snarky got his drink on right away

There was lots of eating, drinking, and Snape-ing. Here are a number of random shots including dueling for Snapecast t-shirts...

Before the release of Epsiode 21, here are some more pictures from the Snapecasters at Sectus. This series depicts our journey to the Waterstone's at Leicester Square in London where Potter fans from all over the world were queuing for days in anticipation of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. These folks were desperately in need of shampoo so Snapecast to the rescue!

Here are some crazy shots of the massive line...

All the Muggles in London were probably bewildered. It was the sort of day, that a sight like this--two witches strolling down the street--wasn't uncommon...

Last chance to vote for Snapecast for the Podcast Awards [Aug. 13th, 2007|05:10 pm]
chaeche

Original poster: chaeche

Just a reminder that today is your last chance to vote for Snapecast (along with some other awesome Harry Potter podcasts) in this year's Podcast Awards. We were nominated in the Entertainment category and a link to voting form can be found here.

Thanks to everyone who nominated us and who has voted for us so far. Maybe winning this will make up for Snape losing that Order of Merlin in Book 3...or maybe not.
